This was a BS call, no doubt about it. Not a Chiefs fan, but I've been a fan of Chris Jones' play for many years. This is a situation where the referee thinks a 300-lb man can suddenly stop himself in mid-air while stripping the QB of the ball. It shows a complete lack of understanding of the game of football as well as the laws of physics. This is a textbook call in the illustration of how bad NFL refs have gotten.

I saw that play the day it happened and I still can’t believe it.

Allegedly it’s only holding if you have to reach out wide laterally away from your body. Literally holding on to the opponent’s gear is not “holding” as long as your hands are in towards the center of your body. I highly doubt it is called this way against certain teams but ok.
